The Curtis Thompson Foundation was set up to help Elite Field Athletes get some of the funds they may need to compete internationally. If you would like to donate to the foundation, please know you would be helping USA field athletes to Level the Field. We say Level the Field because our competitors invest more time and money into their field athletes, and it shows. To accomplish this, we need your support. Athletes need your help.

A kid grows up in a small town. With parental support, they competed in competitive youth sports: little league, basketball, football, soccer, and maybe track and field. They chose Track and Field at some point because they discovered they were good at it. This kid doesn’t run fast but can throw far. They earn a scholarship and compete at a competitive school. During the summers, they make their place on national teams. While on these teams, they experience what it was like to be a field athlete on a national team. Everything is taken care of. This care stops the day they graduate.
An athlete needs coaching, training, somewhere to train, medical attention, a nutritionist, a travel agent, an accountant. Plus many other things. Most other competitors have these things in some form. Javelin, shot put, and discus are field events. Everyone knows about the runners, but the field is different because it doesn’t generate the same money or popularity as it does for the runners. Proceeds and profit are different as well. Runners have sponsors and get compensated in the hundred of thousands of dollars. Someone in the field does not earn that kind of money. So an average meet may have a winning of $4000. The agent may set up the travel, which would cost $2000-$3000; the agent takes his percentage of what could be 15% out of the $4000 in winnings, then the agent takes out the $2000 to $3000 for travel leaving the athlete with $1000 minus tax withholdings of the $4000. Out of that, the athlete must pay for training and his needs to win.

With your help, Curtis Thompson Foundation will help Elite Field Athletes compete and train internationally. We are a registered non-profit, and your donation is tax-deductible. Thank you for taking the time to explore our site.
